Dzekashu MacViban

Dzekashu MacViban is a writer, curator and founder of Bakwa Books, an organization that empowers Cameroonian creatives through multimedia publishing, podcast and translation projects. He is the editor of Of Passion and Ink: New Voices from Cameroon, and co-editor of Limbe to Lagos: Nonfiction from Cameroon and Nigeria, and Your Feet Will Lead You Where Your Heart Is. Using poetry as curatorial methodology as a starting point, his curatorial practice investigates the politics of identity and how this is linked to individual and collective histories, as well as interdisciplinary formats that push the boundaries between literary practices and other practices, specifically exhibition and performative practices. Among others, he has curated: You Have A Fullness You Need To Bring Out at Akademie Schloss Solitude (2021). He is currently curator of Literature and Oralture Practices at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin.
