Kinzonzi is a collaborative project by Laboratoire Kontempo and ACUD MACHT NEU BERLIN. The first part of the project took place in Kinshasa. Artists and researchers from Kinshasa and Berlin met for an exchange in Kinshasa and jointly developed an exhibition at the National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kinzonzi 2.0 is a three-day online program by Laboratoire Kontempo. It presents artistic videos, artist talks, radio and conferences. It also serves as an online archive for the artistic and theoretical works created during the Kinzonzi project within the Laboratoire Kontempo in 2021.

In the third and final phase of the project, the artists and researchers met again in Berlin and presented their work in talks, roundtables, presentations and two exhibitions at the ACUD galerie and the Haus der Statistik.

In the framework of the project „Miziki“, musicians from Kinshasa and Berlin came together to seek musical connections through conversations and performances. The focus of the Miziki program was to create a space of gathering, substituting eurocentric categorizations of classical, popular and “world” music with an open encounter and exchange in musical knowledge, collaboration, artistic research and modes of listening together.
